Potable water testing

The safety and quality of potable water on board is of fundamental importance to those on board. At the same time, the systems for producing, storing and distributing potable water are susceptible to bacterial contamination. Keeping the water on board at a low temperature is a challenge, and water pipes are often prone to corrosion. There are also often stagnant water sources (emergency showers, for example) that can be a source of legionella contamination. Although many flag states (including the Netherlands) do not make potable water tests compulsory, an increasing number of shipping companies are having them carried out as a matter of good employment practice.

Normec MTS is happy to take the testing of potable water on board off your hands.
