Potable water on board can contain both microbiological and chemical contaminants. Causes include high temperatures, poor hygiene conditions and disinfection with (excessive) amounts of biocides, such as active chlorine. The standards and guidelines from the WHO, the EU and the MLC state what potable water on board must comply with, not only in terms of being able to drink it safely, but also in terms of preventing Legionnaires’ disease.
With the Normec MTS sample kit you can sample your potable water on board according to the applicable standards and guidelines. The kit includes as standard the possibility to sample for Legionella analysis. We also test for the type of legionella bacteria in our lab.
